The road towards a sustainable rubber industry

At the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Sustainable Materials Group (SMG) held in the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) in London, Rubber Conversion presented its innovative solution forupcycling rubber production offcuts and End-of-life Tire products into valuable and sustainable compounds.

Focusing mainly on the company’s patented technology, company’s CTO Mr. Guido Morisco, presented the novel process for de-vulcanizing a broad spectrum of Sulphur-cured polymers, namely NR, SBR, NBR, IIR and EPDM. The value proposition of the company is the unparalleled retention of the tensile strength and elongation of the compounds, combined with a very low Mooney viscosity variance, hence providing an effective industrial solution for upcycling valuable resources.

The overview was presented to over 50 delegates from across Europe, considerably aiming in accelerating the development and adoption of “green” alternatives.
