HOW IT WORKS

Rubber Conversion uses a patented technology based on a shear-driven chemical activated process, performed at ambient temperature and pressure. The process performs a selective breakdown of cross polymers Sulphur bonds across a wide range spectrum of Sulphur-based vulcanized compounds, turning rubber wastes into active ingredients for new rubber compounds.

We characterize Polymers by using Thermogravimetric analysis – TGA.

It is the high performance chemical modifier for devulcanizing rubber waste in an automated process and at ambient temperature.

This process breaks down the sulfur links that connect rubber polymer chains in vulcanized rubber, which enables the waste rubber to be reused while retaining most of the original rubber properties.

This superior quality recycled rubber can either be used alone or it can be mixed with a virgin rubber. Usually, compounds consisting of up to 50% of Rubber Conversion’s devulcanized rubber are used on an industrial scale and with a great performance.

Rubber Conversion’s mechanical-chemical process is performed without using any toxic chemicals, it does not emit any hazardous waste or gases and it is 100% environmentally safe. Devulcanization is recognized as the most promissing eco-friendly way to process used tires and rubber waste.

No. Rubber Conversion process can devulcanize Sulphur-vulcanized rubber only.

Yes. Although we generally deliver SRC in custom weight  EVA bags, we can arrange delivery in big-bags as well. 

It varies depending on the desired application. SRCallows for a greater retention of polymer mechanical properties compared to reclaim rubber; in several applications, SRC is being used with a substitution rate of up to 50%

SRC is a product family of NR/SBR compounds. It can be conveniently used to lower the cost of NR based compounds or to improve the properties of NBR/NR based compounds: usually the latter provides the highest cost-savings.

SRC retain significantly higher elongation and tensile strength compared to equivalent reclaim rubber products. Our process, performing a selective crosslink scission instead of the random crosslink scission of the reclaim processes, shows a significantly lower cross-link density.

Yes. Rubber Conversion’s process is batch and the system is perfectly clean between batches to avoid contamination. Our process can be performed on transparent compounds as well.
